Some of the largest family houses in central London are to be found in Holland Park. Ironically, many of them were built in the 1840s as speculative developments, but were ultimately too large and had to be divided up and sold off as flats, only to be redeveloped in the past 15 years as the single homes they were always intended to be. They also tend to have large gardens unknown of in other parts of London, which attracts those with young families.

An array of excellent shops, particularly around Holland Park Avenue, has grown up to service these affluent local residents and there are excellent public transport links to The City as well as easy access west to Heathrow.
